Erik didn't feel too great but here's the thing…you can not feel too great in the snow belt OR you can not feel too great while relaxing and enjoying the view…
We had a fabulous week…despite that fact that people didn't follow the dinner dress codes (personal annoyance shared by Jack… I must take a moment to note that in my own personal parenting success file is the fact that Jack is also personally offended by poor grammar) and the full body anatomy lessons Jack received courtesy of the wanna be bathing suits made up of cheap string with a healthy dose of no modesty. Jack assured me it was ok since he did in fact take family life last year.
Don't even get me started on the speedos.
Here are some highlights in no particular order:
Beach, Sun, Warm Water
Lots of food, The smell of sunscreen, Pina Coladas
Climbing Waterfalls 1000 feet straight up
Fabulous shopping
(with a husband hurrying you on through the Jamaican Market)
Sea Air, Balcony rooms a must
Salt Water
Children dressing up all pretty with no complaints
Pools, Hot Tubs
Boats, Busses
Snorkeling
Swimming with Stingrays in Grand Cayman
Boys jumping off boats
before they come to a complete stop
because, you know, it looked fun
Swimming, Swimming, Swimming
and really what vacation is complete without a scary creepy random beach goer dancing in the sand…
Next up in the midwest:
Erik is going to schedule the surgery that kicks off the dialysis process. He needs an out patient procedure, two weeks of healing and a few weeks of onsite dialysis training before he can avail himself of the convenient yet still annoying home dialysis option. Naturally this takes a few weeks to get going. Clearly this whole thing is payback for my lack of patience and need for organized scheduling.
In breaking news, I am working on organizing all of the information and documents we have received into pretty color coded folders. My cousin told me some entertaining stories about binder people, i.e. people with all of their medical information and random thoughts compiled in a binder that needs to be carted around on a refrigerator dolly thing. I don't want to be a binder person.
Transplant evaluation still set for April 16th. Until then, I'm going to close my blinds and pretend that this view is right outside my door…
