Progress results in prison break

So last night I went out to dinner with a friend.  Translation:  I got to brush my hair and go out in public and get out of the house and have a fabulous time.  I got home at a time that was apparently earlier than Erik thought I would get home….since he pulled into the driveway right behind me.  I pulled into the garage and he and Jack parked in the driveway and attempted to sneak in the house.  

Seriously.

I just stared at them and Erik said "Jack drove."  Yeh, Jack is 14.  And was holding a bag from Taco Bell.  Side note:  Since I have been the only one who can drive and go to the grocery store no one has had Taco Bell.  I guess they were done with the whole mom's in charge and not buying us any crap food phase of this game.  At least they went through the drive through and didn't go inside.

Erik hasn't taken any pain medication since he had the drain inserted.  I'm not done with my why the heck didn't he have a drain in the first place interrogation discussion.  He is like a different person and basically it just plain sucks that he had to deal with that pain that he shouldn't have had.  Anyway, he is doing great.  He is up and around and apparently feels ok to drive.  I guess as long as he isn't on pain meds it's ok.  Of course when I referenced his little prison break in a get away car drive by incident to Taco Bell and followed with a comment about getting up and taking Jack to wrestling at 8 a.m. he responded "but it's cold."  I won't type my response.  

Now that he actually feels good and can participate in life I think the stay out of public rule is going to get real annoying real quick.    For both of us.

He is getting his drain and dialysis catheter removed on January 13th.  I'm having vacation planning withdrawal so at the next appointment I have two questions: (1) when can he leave the state and (2) when can he leave the country.  If they answer correctly I will let go of my why didn't he get a drain obsession.
