Blame it on the kidney failure

Erik spent the day being violated as part of the final confirmation that he is transplant eligible.  He has another full day tomorrow.

He asked me not to write about this.  The conversation went something like this:

Me:    This is too good not to share
Him:   Don't put this on the blog
Me:    Walking away ignoring his request headed for the computer

Sometimes it's really like he has never met me.

Today Erik had an unpleasant procedure.  In order to protect his privacy we will call it a colonoscopy.  He also had an endoscopy but that provides far less entertainment and not nearly as much inappropriate commentary.

Erik relayed that he asked the doctor if she was using the same tube for both procedures.  Oh yes he did.  She gave an obligatory half laugh and sort of sighed.  (I immediately texted this to my friend Jamie since it was her line and he stole it….)

Then.  Then.  He tells me that when it was all over he asked the doctor if she was going to buy him dinner now.

And I'm the one accused of having no filter.

I'm horrified.  I have to show my face in this place this week.

I am comforted by the knowledge that for the first time in 25 years someone may actually feel sorry for me and I might get that knowing "I'm so sorry for you" look that Erik claims to get.  Often.

So far so good with the confirmation.  As such I shall proceed with my pre transplant massage.

P.S.  Don't tell me not to put something on my blog.
