The Classics

Nothing much to update.  Erik had to pee in a big container all day today so that was something new and exciting.  Tomorrow is lab day so he gets to head out bright and early with his backpack full of goodies and his pee in a container.  Apparently there is much more to all of this than just hooking up to a machine and patiently awaiting a transplant.  When he cares about appropriate updates and privacy he can take over the blog.

I had planned to get Erik a new iPad for his post transplant hospital stay.  Ok, let's keep it real.  I planned to get myself a new iPad and give him my old one.  Whatever.

Anyway, he went and got one for himself so he can read instead of watch t.v. while doing dialysis.  He said he wanted to read all of the classics that he never read when he was younger.   Then he signed in on my Amazon account.

This is where it gets good.

If he is looking for anything resembling a classic I'm telling you all right now it's not on my kindle app.  English lit major people.  Been there done that.  So now i'm stuck half listening to his shock and awe at what I do have on Amazon.  I tried to explain the beauty of the "new" classics like the Twilight series and all of the Harry Potter Books and it's not his business that I have all of these in hard copy too, some vampire smut type novels, teenage drama sorts of things, the Princess Kate biography, and a lot of mysteries.  I actually do read adult books on occasion.

It's bad enough that I have to explain the "recently watched" titles on Netflix.  Now this.

Life is quiet in the transplant fast lane.  We probably won't have any real and/or appropriate updates for a few weeks.  Nick will go back to school in a few weeks, Jack will start school, and I will have to refigure out this morning routine stuff with the early rising boy and the needy dog and the man on the machine until well after the morning routine has ended.

This is why I read nonsense, it requires little to no mental capacity.

So while Erik is reading A Tale of Two Cities I am changing my Amazon password while watching Pretty Little Liars on my computer with my headphones.

Don't be jealous of all the excitement around here.
