Oh. My. Gosh.
Immediate difference.
Erik looks better. I didn't realize he sort of had a yellow glow until I saw him after dialysis today and he wasn't yellow.
The fluid retention, or puffiness, appears to be 1/2 of what it was just the other day. Amazing. I would post before and after pictures of his hands and face but I don't take normal pictures. I only take pictures of surgical incisions and ill fitting back open hospital gowns. He already can't believe most of what comes out of my mouth so I'm pretty sure he would less than love it if I posted the pictures I have. I did send a surgical incision picture to my mom though. She likes that stuff. Sort of all making sense for you now, huh?
He lost 10 lbs of fluid in two days. I guess I got used to how he looked and he just didn't look that swollen until I saw him not nearly so swollen. These dialysis solution people would make a ton of money if they bedazzled a machine and sold a little fluid transfer session in the corner of a salon. Or on the black market.
He seems to have actual energy and no longer looks like he is going to pass out from walking across the house. Tonight he walked to the mail box. Of course he decides he is all super human energy man now and can venture off to the mail box on the day some of the stuff I ordered online and was planning just to open and put away and act like I didn't buy unnecessary crap arrived in the mail. One more day dialysis, all I needed was one more day.
He no longer has the chills. Can I hear a group amen to this one? He had the heat at like 110 degrees while I walked around opening all doors and windows and turning on ceiling fans and eating ice. There is an entire nation of eskimos who have figured out how to just layer up some blankets and live with it so I
So far so good.
In preparation for the arrival of the overwhelming amount of boxes of medical equipment I am firing up my label maker and gathering my colored highlighters. If you think I won't actually put a label that says "dialysis solution" on 50 different boxes you would be mistaken.
